“Give me your hand. Take my hand. Don't you let go. Don't let go... Reach!”—Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

There is no need to explain my title quote for this post. I have stated over and over that I am hooked to LOTR, especially “Return of the King.”  If you’ve never seen LOTR, any of them, please do.  They will not disappoint, I promise.

So,  I’ve had this blog for awhile now, with my first post being some random facts about me.  I thought it might be enjoyable if I listed a few of my favorite things.  Since I did this for movies a few posts ago, I figured I could do it for other aspects of my life as well.

Favorite Foods
PizzaI LOVE PIZZA!! I could probably eat it everyday. YUM!
ChickenI cook a lot with chicken.  I like to use boneless, skinless chicken breasts as a leaner alternative to the chicken with skin.
Mashed PotatoesIs there a better comfort food than mashed potatoes?  I think not!

Favorite Interests/Activites
Spending time with friends and family

Favorite Music
Michael Jackson
The Jackson Five
Huey Lewis and the News
The Temptations
Rock ballad bands from the 80’s and 90’s
Music from “The Phantom of the Opera”

Favorite Books
Harry Potter series—No explanation needed with this one.  I’m sure you all feel like I beat my Harry Potter love into your poor little skulls.  I’m sorry if I do, I just love it so much!
HominidsThis is the first book in a series of three.  I haven’t had the chance to read the others, but this book was phenomenal!  It’s about parallel universes and quantum physics.  It may sound dull, but it’s a very good book.
Angels and DemonsThis book was great from the start.  The first paragraph pulls you in, and to me, that makes for a great reading experience!  The movie wasn’t that good to me, but this book is wonderful.
Twilight seriesDon’t make fun of me for this, but I do love this series.  It pulled me in immediately, and I was sad to see each book end.  The movies are not very good at all, but I still watch them and buy them because I love the books so much.

Favorite TV Shows
Grey’s AnatomyI’m sad to say that I haven’t been watching this show since its debut.  Right before I went on maternity leave from work, I got the first season from Netflix, and was instantly hooked!  I borrowed some of the other seasons, because I couldn’t stop watching.  I now own all of them, and have watched each episode three or more times.  I love this show!  This last season wasn’t as good as previous seasons, but I still watched every episode like clockwork.
FriendsI got into this show from watching re-runs on TV.  I have all of these seasons, too.  I don’t even know how many times I’ve watched each season.  This is a show I can watch over and over, it’s that good!
Dawson’s CreekThis is a show from my Jr. High/High School days.  You guessed it, I have all of these seasons as well!  I remember sitting in my room on Wednesday nights, waiting impatiently for “Dawson’s Creek” to come on.  I never missed an episode, and I bawled like a baby when the show finally ended.  I will always love this show!
Gilmore GirlsI understand that you either love or hate this one…I happen to love it.  The dialogue is so quick and hilarious.  Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel do an excellent job at making you wonder what they will do/say next.  They are hilarious, as are the other characters.  I have all of these seasons, too.
Sex and the City—Last but not least, “Sex and the City.”  And of course,  these seasons keep my other seasons company in my collection.  I hated watching this show on the CW or TBS, because they would cut out a lot.  Since I didn’t have HBO at the time, I had to settle for the TBS/CW alternative.  I can say now, the only way to watch this show is via HBO or renting/buying the seasons.  This is one hilarious show!  Definitely not one for the kids, but a great adult show to say the least.

Favorite Destinations and Potential Destinations
Chicago—I don’t know what it is about the windy city, but it draws me in like a moth to a light.  I love going up there to explore, sight-see, enjoy some good eats, listen to some great jazz, and everything else this city has to offer.
New York—I have only had the chance to go to New York once, but I loved it!  It was the middle of July when we went there, so it was extremely hot with no wind at all, so I would choose a different time of the year to go, but I want to go back desperately!! I love the atmosphere and diversity of this city.
All-inclusive resorts—If you’ve never been to an all-inclusive resort, I HIGHLY recommend it.  Your food, drinks, and entertainment on the resort are F.R.E.E!!! I really want to check out an all-inclusive in Jamaica, because I’ve heard it is absolutely gorgeous and the food is phenomenal!  Maybe we’ll go in the next year or two.
Disney World—Yes, I am a grown woman, and I still love Disney!  Me, Darren, and mom and dad have already discussed when we want to take a big family trip to Florida to Disney so that way our kid(s) can enjoy it as much as we have over the years.
Italy—I haven’t actually been to Italy, but it is a destination that I ache to visit, so I am already calling it one of my favorite destinations…actually, we can give it the title of favorite potential destination.  I will visit Italy in the future….I have already started planning our trip there! J
Las Vegas—This is another potential favorite destination, but seriously, who wouldn’t love Vegas?  We are actually going in March for mom’s 50th birthday, so I am beyond stoked!!  They are just going to have to watch me while I’m gambling… could be disastrous….I am a gambling fool when I am within 10 feet of a slot machine.
Favorite Memories
Wedded Bliss—My first favorite memory is the day I married my best friend!  I love Darren so much, and I’m so happy that we could find happiness together.  He is always there for me, and reminds me everyday what true love is.
Bun in the oven arrivesI will never forget the day I became a mom.  I love Ryder with all of my heart.  Being a mom and being able to care for him the way I do is a wonderful experience that I wouldn’t trade for anything.  He is the sweetest little guy that anyone could ask for, and I am blessed to have him in my life.
Music activities—Some of my favorite memories stem from my involvement in music.  I started band when I was in 5th grade, and went up until I graduated High School.  I was in band, choir, jazz band, pit band (for the musical), pep band (for basketball), all-district band, and color guard (for marching band).  I knew how to play multiple instruments, and I could twirl a flag like no other, haha. J  I really miss it.  I’ve recently talked about buying a bass clarinet (my primary instrument) just so I could play again.  I still have flags that I can twirl around as well, but playing an instrument is what I miss the most.
