Tuesday/Wednesday Catch-up and Some Favs

Darren and I had Tuesday and Wednesday off this week as well, and it was definitely nice to have a little break.  Even though we were busy every day, I was still able to enjoy a lot of quality time with my fellas.

Tuesday I deemed as 'catch-up day.'  I had a lot of editing and homework to catch up on.  I caught up on everything, and we even had a chance to take Ryder swimming in the afternoon.  It was pretty good day, and even though we didn't really go anywhere, I feel like the time still slipped through my fingers.

Wednesday we decided to take a trip up to Brookfield Zoo near Chicago **pictures to come**.  I was hoping Ryder would enjoy it a little more than last time since he's a bit older.  Not so much.  He really didn't care about the animals, with the exception of the seals.  He LOVED the seals....he was laughing, pointing and clapping at them.  It was beyond adorable.  As far as the other animals he saw, he decided to name them 'kitty.'  Every animal is called 'kitty' these days.....

I told the hubby that we need to plan a Chicago trip sometime soon so Ryder can see Shedd Aquarium.  Since he loved the seals, I bet he would love seeing more fish, dolphins, and the beluga whales! :-)

Aaaaannnnddd since it's the end of the month, I suppose I will share some of my favorites.  Here we go!

This is a seriously yummy (and super filling) sammy.  SO GOOD!

Fountain Pepsi and Coca-Cola

There's just something about summer time and fountain pop that go hand in hand.  Why does it always taste so much better out of a fountain machine?  Darren has talked about getting one of those Soda Stream things....I may have to try it to see if it tastes like the real deal.  Might save me some chedda' in the long run.

My skin is very dry right now because of my psoriasis  For some reason, the psoriasis has decided to spread all over the place, and this lotion helps a ton with some of the itch.  I love this lotion!

I guess that's all folks.  Happy Thursday, and thanks for reading!! :-)

Sunday/Monday Craziness

Sunday was another full day.  Mom and I had a baby shower to go to, and then we had a cookout at their house later on.

Monday, mom and dad watched the little fella' while me, Darren, Jeffro and Kinzey spent the entire day down in Bloomington.  We saw "The Avengers"....again, and went shopping.  It was a busy two days!

I think I may be dizzy again.

....ok, I'm really not.

But, we were still busy....and by the end of Sunday and Monday we were all exhausted.  Ryder slept in until 7:30 both mornings, which is definitely not normal.  He usually wakes us up around 6 or so.

Any who.....

Here are some pictures from the cookout on Sunday.

Not sure what to think about the water.

Ohhhh my brother.....

Mom and dad trying their best to get Ryder acclimated to his water-filled surroundings. :-)

Starting to enjoy it more

He figured out that splashing is a lot of fun

This pic cracks me up.  Dad is wearing Ryder's hat.  Ryder seems to be having fun with the splashing.

FINALLY!  A smile. :-)

He really wanted to taste this water.  Luckily, it was chlorine free, haha.

Look at those eyelashes.

Upset because it was time to get out of the pool.

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial day weekend!!

Peace, love and rock n' roll friends.  Thanks for reading!

Saturday Madness

Saturday was a jam packed day for us! We had two photo sessions back to back, and then we went to listen to a little 'jam session' that happens once a year, and then we went to Pontiac for the second time that day to do some grocery shopping.  We got home about 7pm and tried to relax with TV and pizzas.

I'm dizzy just thinking about it...

Ok, I'm not.

But it was still a lot going on!

Now, back to the sessions.....

The first one was with an adorable newborn and his big sis.  The girl goes to daycare with Ryder, so since she knows me I think she was pretty comfortable and listened really well.  Her lil' brother was such a snoozer and slept most of the time.  He really didn't want to be posed; as soon as I would move his hands he would move them back.  You take what you can get.

Ah, how cute!  I could just melt right now!

How cute is this?!

It was such a fun session!

Right after this we went to Pontiac to take pictures of a little 7 month old at her families timber.  It was terribly hot, and this little girl was super tired.  With all of that going on, I think we still got some cute ones.  She was such a trooper!

She is so dang cute!

Sunday and Monday were full days as well, however, I'll save those adventures for another post.

Lata' peeps!  Have a great Tuesday (which really feels like Monday).  Darren and I still have a couple of days off--we try to do this every year--so I think I'll try to play catch up today.

Coulda', Woulda', Shoulda'

So, this morning was no different than any other morning.  I woke up, wide awake at 4am, and laid there until the alarm went off at 5.  I got up, got ready for work, dropped everything in my grasp, ran into the wall, and tripped over a cord for the know, the usual.

I got Ryder ready per our normal routine as well. The hubby works third shift so I'm used to wrangling the stinker by myself in the AM.   I laid him down to change his diaper, and had to sing him a song that his 'Scout' plays for him so he wouldn't keep rolling over.  I had to wrestle him to put his lotion on, and had to continually sing to him to try to keep him focused (with no success) because he thinks it's hilarious to roll over and show me where his Pooh bear is on the wall...while I'm trying to get him ready. You know, the usual.

I took all of our belongings for the day and Ryder downstairs so I could finish getting ready, let the dog out, take everything to the car.  You know, the usual.

Our answering machine was blinking, which is rare, so I listen to the message.  It's the hubby.  "Hey hun, it's me. Everything's fine.  I'm at the"...........and nothing else!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UHM, what the heck kind of message is that to leave for your dear wife???  So, on our way out of town, I call the hubby to see where he is and what happened.  He proceeds to tell me that the message cut off because he had to answer an incoming call from my dad, because apparently my dad was his ride home from the hospital, and he forgot to call me back.  Yeah, ok, cool, I'm glad your OK.  TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!!!  He was out of the hospital, on his way back to work, so he tells me the story....

Darren cut his finger at work, and their policy is to send you to the hospital when this happens, regardless of the severity of the cut.  Darren said it wasn't too terrible, but, alas, he still had to follow the company policy.  The ambulance was called, Darren was strapped to the gurney, the EMT's were taking his vitals...yep, all for a cut finger.  This part actually made me laugh because, seriously, can you image Darren just laying there, completely coherent, strapped down on a gurney, with nothing more than a cut finger.

I'm giggling right now.....someone slap me.

So, they get him over to the Pontiac hospital, put some glue on his finger, give him a tetanus shot, make him take a drug test (wha'??), and send him on his merry way.  I still don't understand the drug test part...but the hospital said that it's normal procedure too.  Welp, okie dokie then.

You know what could have prevented this......?

......oh the wonders of Photoshop! Now Darren can really be Tony Stark.

If Darren would have been wearing his Iron Man suit, this wouldn't have happened.  Can't get a cut finger through that armor!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!  Thanks for reading! :-)

P.S.  Darren is healing just fine and will make a full recovery.  Just wanted to throw that out there....

"Hey, you guys ready to let the dogs out?"

:: Ever see "The Hangover"?  The character 'Alan' says the line that I put as the title in the movie. I didn't really like it at first, but I like it more each time I watch it.  Kind of like "Superbad."  Yep...pretty funny stuff right thurrr.

::  I had a not-so-pleasant night last night.  A migraine paired with a screaming child with the addition of power editing on a computer are not good when mixed together.  Trust me.  I have some more power editing to do tonight, so let's hope that my child decides to play nice and not run rampid through the house screaming his head off.

::  Because of said migraine, it took me forever to fall asleep last night.  Darren is an awesome hubster, and sent me to bed around 8pm.  I laid there for awhile, dozed, and then woke back up at 11:15pm.  The headache was almost gone, but I felt so tired.  I fell back asleep, and woke up bright and early at 4am, and laid awake until my alarm went off at 5am.  Gotta' love that.

::  What is it about Panera that makes me so happy?  Could it be the awesome chips they have?  Maybe.  Could it be the awesome sandwiches?  Maybe.  Could it be the glorious pickle that accompanies the sandwich?  Maybe.  OR--could it be the amazing cinnamin roll I had today??!!! YEP!

:: I am so pumped and ready for this long holiday weekend.  What's in store?  Sessions; food; a zoo; a baby shower; food; family togetherness; food; and oreo dessert.  YUM!

:: I want to go see The Avengers again.  Badly.

::  Darren's meeting me in B-Town Friday night with R-Dub so we can do some shopping/go to dinner after I get off work.

I can't wait for my date night with my boys!! :-)

Peace, love and rock n' roll friends.  Thanks for reading!

A Real Treat

Have I ever showed you guys some of the pictures I have in my gallery from the camera on my phone?

Have I ever showed you guys the kind of pictures I get of Ryder and the hubby from the camera on my phone?

Oh boy, you're all in for a treat today!

The camera on my truly is magical.

I think the flash is his favorite part of the whole experience.
He looks so happy.....

I am definitely spoiled by my DSLR cameras.....
But, he's my baby he looks cute no matter which camera I use to take his picture. :-)

Then there's this goon.....

He looks even happier than Ryder..... ;-)

Lata' friends!  Thanks for reading!

Randoms? I Think So!!

::: I had a headache today....and I blame my contact.  Yes, I only blame one of them.  I have a special script for one eye for astigmatism...I guess the other eye isn't bad enough for that type of lens yet.  Well, it moves and then I can't see and then I get headaches and then I complain.  Boo.  I think I've complained about this before.  Don't hate me.

::: I took my contacts out, and the headache got a little better.  I decided to ease the rest of my pain with Panera.  It totally did the trick, so now I am very happy and pain free.

:::Tomorrow is the last day of my third photography course, and then I start my fourth one on Thursday.  It's all going so well, and I've learned so much in just the little time I've been taking courses.  I'm so happy and thankful that I have my awesome supportive Tony-Stark-look-a-like hubby who's there for me each step of the way. :-)

::: I took these pictures the other day for class.  I needed some landscape shots for an assignment I was working on.  I love the clouds and the sky in these.  Purdy purdy countryside.

::: Was this post too random for you?  It definitely was for me.  It's only going to get better.....

::: I have a serious sweet tooth lately.  I have a few new recipes I have been dying to try, and each one involves homemade buttercream frosting and marshmallow goodness.

::: See, talking about sweets and buttercream frosting totally made things better. :-)

::: Lata' gata's.  Thanks for reading my ramblings.  You all RAWK! Did you know in my world, rawk is the new cool way to spell rock? Yep. It is.

The Heat is On

This weekend was another busy one....and a hot busy one at that!  I can't believe it's been in the lower 90's in May!  But, with the mild winter weather we had, this hot spring weather really shouldn't surprise me.

I had two outdoor sessions this weekend, and I was worried how well the little ones would do in the heat.  Both sessions turned out awesome!!  I was a hot sticky mess by the end of both of them, but it was well worth it to see these adorable kiddos.

Session #1 was with an adorable 6 month old and his parents.  He was hesitant with the smiles at first, but soon he was giggling and smiling away.

Ahhh, what a little doll-face!

Isn't he precious??

Session #2 was with two cutie-pie sisters.  I had taken some in-door pictures of them last month, but the little one just wasn't having it.  We decided to give it another go by trying outside pictures.  I'm so glad we did!!

Love this one of these two!

She was all about walking through the park.  :-)

She was definitely up for smiling this time.  What a doll!

I'd say we had two very successful sessions this weekend.

Lata' friends.  Thanks for reading!! :-)
