July Favs

I can't believe it's July 31st.....the time is going by so fast!  I'm sure before I know it I'll be shoving pie and Christmas cookies in my face.  Mmmmm....

Onto my July favs:

Strawberry
Edy's Fruit Bars--photo credit

These fruit bars have a serious 'yum-factor'.  They have bits of real strawberry in them and they have really hit the spot this summer.  Plus, they have kept my sweet tooth at bay and have kept me away from Dairy Queen.  :-)

These tees have been a staple for me this summer.  I am not a flashy girl when it comes to my outfits.  Give me some jean capris, flip flops and a plain colored tee and I am completely satisfied.  So, these tees have been amazingly awesome for this summer.

Panera Bread--photo credit

Panera has been the new Arby's for me.  Remember when Arby's showed up on this favorites list, and then again on this one? Well, Panera has been 'it' for me lately.  I have been trying different things on the menu each time I go, and I haven't tried a single thing that I haven't liked.  Good job Panera!

I think that may be it for this month.  Happy Tuesday, and thanks for reading! :-)

We've Been Busy...

....with this family session from a few weekends ago. :-)

.....with this cutie 10 month old from last weekend. :-)

...and with this engagement session from this past weekend. :-)

Sorry for the long post with pics, but I decided to get all of these on here in one clean sweep.  We have been staying steadily busy, and it's so great! :-)

Happy Monday, and thanks for reading!

Oh. My. Word.

It's no shocker that I have a love for Panera food.  Seriously, I talk about the establishment 24/7.  Maybe not that often...but dang close.

So,  I decided to do something different.  I decided to stray away from some of my menu favies and try something, dare I say it...new!  Well, not new on the menu, but new for me.

I tried.....

The Mac and Cheese

This is one of the BEST mac and cheese dishes I have ever tried.  Seriously, I am so depressed that I have been missing out on this little wonder for so long.  The flavor knocks my socks off....well, if I were actually wearing socks that is....and if I were...they would have definitely blown off my tootsies.

It's not something you'd want to eat daily, because something this delicious probably can't be too healthy (I'm terrfied to look up the nutritional value) but, it would be a nice little dish to have every so often. YUM!  Good stuff.

In other news, remember this post when I talk about adding to the pain of my club foot by stubbing my toe?  Well, this morning in my sleepy stupor I managed to stub it again.  The nail part is now changing to a wonderful blue-ish black-ish color...the perfect compliment for flip flops.

Happy Friday, and thanks for reading! :-)

Thursday Thoughts

Linking up with Sar for Thursday Thoughts! :-)

:::one:::
I realized that I never shared some of the sneak peek pictures from the wedding  a few weeks ago.  I'm sorry...better late than never. :-)

Cute sign, huh?  This couple have been together for 10 years and recently decided to tie the knot.  It was a small wedding, but so much fun, and great photography experience for us!

:::two:::
I have been eating a healthier breakfast/lunch/dinner all week.  To say I've been a tad bit grouchy is an understatement.  I really miss Panera and all of the other glorious food spots, but it's time to say buh-bye to my 'lovies' (my pet name for my love-handles).

:::three:::
I mentioned this on another blog, but I must seriously be living under a rock.  Either that, or I am completely oblivious to my surroundings.  I'll go with option 1 and 2. :-)  How have I not heard of this 'Virgin Diaries' show?!  What channel is it on? What other cool things am I missing out on?!

:::four:::
The hubby and I have decided to go on a little date this coming Saturday.  We are going to see the new Batman flick and go eat at one of our favorite dining spots.  Heeellllloooooo bruschetta! I'm really looking forward to it!

:::five:::
Is it really only Thursday?  Is it just me, or has this week really been dragging?

Happy Thursday, and thanks for reading! :-)

A Lesson Learned

I was out-smarted friends....out-smarted by those infomerical peeps.

I usually don't give in to the hype of the products made popular from infomercials, however, I would totally purchase a Magic Bullet or a Ronco Rotisserie roaster.  SET IT AND FORGET IT!!! Haha.  But, those products are available in the 'TV' sections in most stores, so I can just shop at my leisure and purchase one at any given time.
So, the most recent infomercial product I became interested in was The Perfect Tortilla.  I liked this set because they are tortilla molds that fits any size tortilla, and they are baked.  I decided that I possibly wanted to buy one of these sets, because it was definitely a good price ($10) and it came with free crap.  Who doesn't love extra free crap that you will never use?  I do fo' sho'.

I sooooo wanted to say adios to the fryer I never use anway...seems like a justifiable reason to purchase this thang, right?

So, I logged onto the website where I could purchase my tortilla set.  I entered in my info, and I clicked the button (which should have been my first clue) that said process order.  Well, once you do this, it takes you through tons more screens trying to get you to buy more crap.  I selected 'no' for all of these options, except for the option to make the molds a super durable stainless steel, you know, because that was an obvious add-on choice.... (not really, just trying to justify this extra add-on).   But when I saw that the shipping and handling portion was $15, I cancelled out.  Paying $15 for standard shipping is not something I really wanted to do.  So, I cancelled out of the order, and that was that.  I was never taken to the end confirmation screen that usually accompanies online orders.

But then.....

I started thinking about what I would be missing.  I really wanted that dang perfect tortilla set.  I wanted to be able to make these baked tortilla shell bowls from home.

So, I decided to click on process order again, go through all the screens asking if I wanted to add-on more crap...and this time I said no to the stainless steel version, but then, I saw that stupid shipping charge again, and really couldn't justify spending $15 on shipping for a product that will probably be in stores soon.  So, that was that.  I decided I would wait.  I cancelled out and thought all was done with The Perfect Tortilla.

Well.....

A few days later I see a charge for the perfect tortilla come through on my online banking.  At first I was peeved, but then I realized that I had put in my credit card info and then clicked on that dang process order button.  I was under the impression that an order would not processed until I had got gotten through all the other stupid screens for add-ons.  Stupid muah.  Well, the hubster and I discussed it, and instead of fighting the charge, we decided to let it be, because it was the cheaper version of the Perfect Tortilla--non-stainless steel--and I really still did want the dumb thing.  All was right in the world.

Well.......

A few days after that, I see another charge for the perfect tortilla--the more expensive stainless steel version--on my online banking.  They ended up processing that first order, too.  I really thought I was in the clear.  So, now, not only do I have four of these molds, plus a cookbook and a chopper coming my way, I have four more of these molds, plus a second cookbook and a second chopper being sent to me.

These better be the best dang tortilla molds...EVER.

I should have known better.  The guy on the informercial was a tad bit creeptastic....dang you infomercial!!!

Moral of the story?  Don't click the 'process order' button unless you really REALLY know for certain that you 100% for sure want that new-fangled infomercial product.

Or, just wait for it to become available in stores.

Happy Wednesday.  Thanks for reading. :-)

I Want to Cry Hysterically.....

.....the weekend is over.  They go by so quick, and I really want to cry hysterically about it.

...but, I'm not going to cry hysterically.  I may pout a bit, but I will not cry.

Anyone have a tissue? ;-)

So, this weekend was another busy one (that seems to be the trend lately.)

Friday night we had dinner with some friends, and they came back to our house to hang out for a bit.  It was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to do it again.

Saturday, I had a session with this cutie 9 month old. :-)

They are such a cute little family. :-)

I love his blue eyes and all of his little rolls.

It was pretty hot during the session, and he did such a good job the entire time.  I can't wait to do his 1 year pictures....which I can't believe is three short months away.  Time goes by too fast!

After the session, we decided to take a little roadtrip up north to go to the IKEA store.  I scored some awesome blankets and got some neat kitchen ideas, but other than that, I don't think IKEA is really my sorta 'thing.'  It was fun to walk through the store though. :-)

I decided that since we were up north for the afternoon, it would really be a shame if we didn't stop at the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall.  So, we made our way over there, and we didn't buy a darn thing--well--with the exception of cookies and ice cream for a snack, which I'm sure will help immensely with the junk in my trunk buisness...

Sunday I had a family session in the morning, and the rest of the day was spent playing catch-up.

It was a very nice weekend, just incredibly jam packed and short.

Happy Monday, and thanks for reading, peeps! ;-)

Friday Frenzy

::: Not sure why I dubbed today "Friday Frenzy", because there really is no type of 'frenzy' going on.  I was looking for another word that begins with 'f" to go with Friday, and this is the first that popped into my mind, and I decided to roll with it.

::: Speaking of rolls, I really need to get rid of some of this junk in my trunk.

::: Still speaking of rolls, one of my friends told me that when he wears dress shirts and buttons the top button to wear a tie, his neck fat billows over the top of the shirt and he looks like a mushroom.  I lovingly started calling him 'shitake' for fun.  He laughed, so all is good. :-)

::: Panera sounds glorious for today.  Do you think that will help with the junk that's in my trunk?

::: So, I am completely appalled by what happened in Colorado at that theater.  First and foremost, my thoughts are going out to those victims and their friends and families.  What was supposed to a fun night out turned into a horrid nightmare.  It's completely terrible, and I can't wrap my mind around it.      :-(

::: On a completely different note, I am so excited for tonight and the rest of the weekend.  Tonight we are getting together with some friends for dinner, and then hanging out for a bit.  Tomorrow I get to spend time with a lil' guy that I've been photographing since he was 3 months old.  He is now 9 months old.  Where does the time go?!  Then, the hubby wubby, R-Dizzle and myself are making a trip up north to go to Ikea and do some other shopping.  And then on Sunday, I have a family session in the morning.  It's definitely going to be a busy, fun-filled weekend! :-)

::: Dear headache and achingly annoying club-like foot:  I think you have been with me for long enough.  Kindly leave.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Hugs and Kisses~~ Sara

Happy Friday!! Thanks for reading, and have a glorious weekend! :-)

P.S.  How funny is this?!  A friend sent it to me and I couldn't handle it....

I laughed for about an hour at this.

Ok....I laughed for about 10 minutes...

Alright....I only laughed for about 1 minute, but still, if you like LOTR (Lord of the Rings), this is pretty darn hysterical.

K BYE! (Name that movie!)

Thursday Thoughts

This is my first time linking up with Sarah for Thursday Thoughts, and after doing this, I'm not sure why I never did it before.  Better late than never, right?! ;-)

:::one:::
I am extremely tired today.  I went to bed a little later than usual last night because I decided to become 'Sara: Super Duper Power Editor' to finish up editing this most recent family photo session I had done.  Little did I know that on top of staying up later, I wasn't able to really fall asleep at all.  No fun.

:::two:::
Because of being extra sleepy, I was running a little late this morning.  Ryder and I were getting ready to pile into the vehicle to get him to daycare, when all of sudden he biffs it....right in the mud.  So, I had to take him inside, clean him off, then get him to daycare.  What a stinker.

:::three:::
I can't stop thinking about everything we have to get done in order to move in the next few months.  We are installing hard wood floor in a portion of the new house, and we are ripping down wall paper and painting the downstairs at that house as well.  We have to pack up all of our crap belongings, make sure the house is super clean in case it is shown, and move it all in to the new house.  On top of that, we both get to work full time, parent our child, and factor in the business that comes from photo sessions/wedding sessions.  I'm a little dizzy.....but it'll all be worth it in the end. :-)

:::four:::
I am so excited to get our golden retriever puppy in October.  We decided to pick out a boy pup from the upcoming litter, and we are trying to decide on names.  Any suggestions?  We are thinking of naming him Chandler.  Any guesses on what show that is from...? haha

:::five:::
Club foot got better for awhile, but recently it decided to come back for a visit.  I really have no idea what I did....but considering I have random bruises on my knees and legs all of the time, it really doesn't surprise me that I know have a club foot that comes and goes at it pleases.

That's all for today, peeps.  Happy Thursday, and thanks for reading! :-)

One of the Best Kinds of Dates

After a rather horrible week last week, I was so happy to have Monday off.  It was nice to have a little relaxing time after the awful week and busy weekend.

What made it all the more special?  I got to have a little 'date' with Ryder.  I love spending time with Darren and Ryder together, but sometimes it's nice to be alone with either one of them.  I love being able to spend some quality alone time with my little each of my guys, especially Ryder. It's so great being able to spend some alone time with him, especially since I work all week and really only feel like I get some decent 'quality time' with him on the weekends.  And, we all know the weekends tend to fly by.....

Ryder and I went down to Bloomington to run some errands and do a little shopping, and we were able to enjoy a nice lunch together.  He was such a good boy, and was all laughs and smiles , and was 'talking' up a storm.  It was so wonderful to be able to spend the entire day alone with him.

Mommy/son days are the best, in my opinion anyway.  Especially when you have a little guy that decided to be extra cooperative that day. :-)

Love you, little man!  You made mommy's Monday extra special.  :-)

Happy Wednesday.  Thanks for reading! :-)

Weekend Shenanigans

This past weekend was jam packed with photography items.

Friday night I had a session with a little cutie turning two.  She wanted to do her own thing, so I followed her around for awhile just snapping away.  She is so dang cute, and such a little peanut!

Don't you just love her little outfit?  It was her Elmo birthday dress for her Elmo themed birthday party.  So cute!

Saturday we photographed our first wedding of the season!!! It was a hot afternoon, which then turned into a hot stormy afternoon, which then turned into a hot, humid, post stormy afternoon.  With all of that going on, it was still a beautiful day.  I will have some sneak peeks posted of the big day very soon! :-)

Sunday, we had a session with an adorable family of three.  I took some family pictures and then their lil' ladie's two year pictures.  She was so stinkin' cute and very cooperative.

I love the outfit colors.  They really pop and look great together!

Look at her eyelashes!! I can't get over them.  So adorable!

That pretty much sums up my weekend.

Happy Tuesday!  Thanks for reading. :-)
