Doll Baby

This past Monday I had a session with an adorable 3 month old.  He wasn't the happiest camper, and unfortunately he didn't give me any smiles to work with.  BUT, he is so stinkin' cute, so I think the session was a complete success.

Seriously, he looks like a doll baby.  SO CUTE! :-)

I love hearing the 'baby coos'.  One of my favorite sounds. :-)

He was starting to get tired and was being rocked by his dad in this one.  I LOVE IT!

Happy Friday, friends!  Wish me luck moving this Sunday.  Hopefully all goes smooth. :-)

Thursday Thoughts

Linking up with Sar for Thursday Thoughts! :-)

:::one:::
I was finally able to get sneak peeks up from our most recent wedding, and from a family session this past weekend.  I already posted the wedding ones once on here, but, I love them so much I'm going to post them again.  Here is a recap of the wedding. :-)

Aaaannnnd, here's the family session. :-)

Isn't this so sweet?!

Such a happy boy!!

:::two:::
Our September wedding craziness winds down this weekend, which is our last wedding for awhile.  Our next wedding is at the end of the October, and then we have one more in November.  It's been a crazy busy month, but I really enjoy the wedding aspect of photography.  After this weekend, it's back to portrait sessions and gearing up for the holiday mini sessions. :-)

:::three:::
GUESS WHAT STARTS BACK UP TONIGHT?!?!?!
YAY!  I am so excited for this to start, especially after the cliffhanger of last season.  It's too bad that "Glee" is on at the exact same time as "Grey's."  I guess my DVR will be getting good use tonight.

:::four:::
We are moving this weekend, and, surprisingly, I'm not too stressed out about it yet.  We have been working pretty hard at getting most of our "moveable" items out of the house, and we should be ready to move all of the big things this weekend.  I may get emotional once it's all said and done.  This is the first house Darren and I bought; this is the house we brought Ryder home to; this is the house where Ryder did all of his "first" things.  Even though I know we've made a good decision about moving, I think I'll still be sad once the time is upon us.

:::five:::

Did you know that September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month?  My blogger friend Lauren is spreading the word, and actually wrote a post about it, and what she has to say is spot on with how I feel.  Feel free to check out her post and read what she says about the topic.  It's incredibly touching!  I think it's so important to try to spread the word and learn what we can do to help those who are coping/stuggling with this illness, whether the help is to raise money for research, or to lend a helping hand to those who need it.  It's important to remember that every little bit helps. :-)

I guess that's all for this Thursday post.  Have a great Thursday, peeps! :-)

This Past Saturday=GORGEOUS!

I was able to get some sneak peeks up on Facebook the other day from the wedding this past Saturday.  The bride seemed more than pleased with them so far, which makes me giddy.  I seriously can't wait to fully delve into all of those pictures and get to work editing them.  It was such an unbelievably gorgeous day! :-)

I fell in love with this one in its original color, but I fell even more in love with it when I converted it to this black and white tint. <3

I absolutely love them so far.  Like I said, I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the images!

Happy Wednesday! :-)

10 Day YOU Challenge: 4 Books

Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for the 10 Day YOU Challenge.  Today was an easy one for me...4 books. :-)  I am a fan of series of books, so I decided to choose my favorite from each of those. Enjoy. :-)

:::Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:::

I love everything about the Harry Potter franchise and series, and this last book did NOT disappoint.  I cried so many times while reading it, and I was more intertwined with the fictional world than ever before.  Great book!

:::Breaking Dawn:::

The Twilight saga was another book series I was completely wrapped up in.  This last book was incredibly amazing.

:::Fifty Shades Darker:::

This trilogy is amazing, but this second book had me more involved and on my toes than the other two.  It was my favorite out of the three. :-)

:::Angels and Demons:::

This is one of my favorite books I've ever read.  It had me intrigued after I read the first sentence, and I can't remember a time when any other book did that for me.

There you have it, my four books.  I highly recommend the books and/or series they are apart of.  All of them are fantastic, and are thoroughly enjoyable. :-)

Happy Tuesday, friends!

This Weekend I...

Life of Love

Linking up with Sar and Syndal for "This Weekend I..."

So, I'm going to apologize in advance....I have ZERO pics to share. Sorry folks.  I'm just a square like that... ;-)

This weekend I....

...photographed another beautiful wedding, however, this time I did this while having a 101* fever.  Yep.  Awesome, right?  Even with the fever/sickness, we got some amazing shots, and I will be sharing sneak peeks from this wedding soon!!

...made a lot of progress on the moving front.  The kitchen and basement are almost entirely cleaned out and moved.  Yay for motivation!

...drove my hubby insane by shopping for fall decorations.  It was fun. :-)

...didn't get enough sleep.  I am a zombie right now.  Maybe I should try out for a role on "The Walking Dead."  I'd fit in for sure.

...got to eat some pumpkin bars.  I got to eat one today too.  Jealous?  No?  Did I mention they had cream cheese frosting on them?  Jealous now? ;-)

Happy Monday!  I promise to share more pics throughout the week and for the link-up next week.

BYE!

A Break

Today, the hubby and I had a serious heart-to-heart.  We made a decision...such an important one.  We decided that I should take a break from my classes.  This decision did not come lightly, nor was it something I really wanted to do.  It was something I needed to do at this time.  I just feel like I have so much on my plate, and the things/people that I should be concentrating on, I'm not.

The important thing now is that I concentrate on myself, my family, and the business, all of which seriously lacked in much needed attention.  So, once things are more balanced, I will go back and complete my degree. I know people say that every day and never return, but I will.  I have to.  I don't like to leave things unfinished, and this falls into that category.  This is just a small hiccup in my academic journey, and hiccups go away eventually, right?!  Plus, it's just a break...nothing more.

I feel good about this decision.  Of course, I am not overly thrilled with it, but I feel good about it.  In my mind, that's enough.

Now I get to spend more time with these faces:

I am happy, and that's what counts.

Happy Friday!

Thursday Thoughts

Linking up with Sar for Thursday Thoughts! :-)

:::one:::
Can I just take a second and mention how unbelieveably gorgeous the weather is in Illinois right now?!  Omagoodness, it is glorious! If it was like this all year round, I would be happy.  I love hoodies, and this weather, especially at night, is perfect for them. :-)

:::two:::
I am getting ready to announce a giveaway on our Facebook business page.  I am incredibly excited to offer this.  We've done three in the past and they have been awesome.  I am still working on the details, so stay tuned. :-)

:::three:::
Our goal is to be moved into our new house by next Sunday/Monday.  Have I packed?  That would be a big fat no.  I need to get on this....and trust me, I've tried.  I am so dang busy with everything else I have had literally no time to pack.  Who wants to do this for me?! ;-)

:::four:::
I started a new class today: Printing.  I'm sure I'll be less stressed since I am only take one course right now, and not two.  We'll see how it goes!

:::five:::
I am in the mood for pumpkin bars with cream cheese icing.  Who's with me????!!!!

Mmmmhmmmmm....good stuff, man!

Happy Thursday, friends!

Had to Share These

This past Sunday I had a session with such a sweet family.  I love how these have turned out so far, and I just had to share them! :-)

I love everything from the lighting to all of the awesome colors.  I can't wait to edit the rest of them! :-)

Happy Wednesday, friends!

10 Day YOU Challenge: Five Foods

10 Day Challenge Link Up
Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for the 10 Day YOU Challenge.  Today is five foods. :-)

First off, I love all types of food, so picking just five has been a bit of a challenge.  Plus, it's made me incredibly hungry, which makes me sad, since I don't have food in front of me right now.

Anyway, back to the link up. :-)

:::Pizza:::

I live about two hours away from Chicago, and I LOVE Chicago style pizza.  Giordano's is the place to fill this need...or Gino's East....seriously good 'za, folks!

:::Bread:::

I.  Love.  Bread.  Especially when it's topped with ooey gooey melted cheese.  'Nuff said.

:::Cheese:::

I love eating cheese, and oogling all of the different types of cheese at the fancy supermarkets.  I haven't found a cheese that I haven't liked yet, well, except for blue cheese.  That tastes like a foot.  But, I do love all types of cheese.

:::Chicken:::
Extra Crispy™

Who doesn't love fried chicken?  Or any type of chicken for that matter?  I eat chicken a good 3-4 times a week.  Normally it's just baked or in the crock pot, but I still love a good piece of fried chicken.  Mmmmm.

:::Green Bean Fries:::

This is a fairly new love of mine, but I am addicted to these!  I would eat them over regular fries anyday.  I could probably eat an entire bag of these myself if given the opportunity.  I just ordered three bags of these from Schwan's, so we'll see how long they last....I give it a good two days or so.

See....now I'm hungry for all of these things, none of which are in front of me at the moment.  Bummer.

Happy Tuesday!

Wedding Bells

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of photographing our second wedding of the month.  Two down, two more to go! :-)  The weather was absolutely perfect, and the wedding was gorgeous.

LOVE the shoes! :-)  The bottoms had stickers on them saying "I Do."  Adorable, right?!

Seriously, how cute is this?   This is the car that the bride/groom later left in, so we decided to go over and let the kids have a bit of fun. The flower girl was a bit shy, and the ring bearer was so good at getting her more comfortable.  I absolutely love this action shot of the kids!  They kept chasing each other around the car.

The colors, the flowers, the dresses, the bride...all GORGEOUS!

Did I mention how much fun this wedding was?

Just beautiful :-)

I loved her dress! Stunning, that's for sure...

One of my favorites from the entire day!

This was such a wonderful day, and I want to thank the bride and groom for letting us share in the joy of it all.  It was a pleasure photographing it all for them! :-)

Happy Monday, friends!
