Tuesday Topics: Six Different Items From Each Color of the Rainbow

Linking up for Tuesday Topics! :-)  Today's topic is six different items from each color of the rainbow.

I love our vehicle, and it just so happens to be red! :-)

Women's Dolman-Sleeve Tees

Lately, I've really been digging the look of bright colored tops.  I've been told that orange is one of my colors, so I've been gravitating to them a little more.

I loved these centerpieces at one of the weddings we photographed earlier this year.  The yellow flower really made them pop.  Plus, I love the yellow light bokeh in the background. :-)

One of my favorite things to do is drive around and photograph different things.  I love capturing the green grass in the late spring/summertime.

I remember taking this photo and I was in awe at how beautiful and blue the sky was this day!

I love bright colored shoes, especially these!!

Happy Tuesday!!  Have a great day! :-)

Tuesday Topics: Seven American Cities

Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for another round of Tuesday Topics. :-)

Today's topic is seven American cities I want to visit.

Washington DC

I would love to visit our Nation's capitol and see the different monuments and museums.

Boston, MA

There's just something about all of those big cities on the east coast that really draw me in.  I've been to NYC and LOVED it, but, I wouldn't mind traveling to some of the other east coast cities as well. :-)

San Franscisco, CA

Darren and I were just having a conversation about future vacations, and he thought I was crazy for wanting to visit San Franscisco.  I would love to see the Golden Gate Bridge and other parts of the city.  Plus, can anyone tell me if the exterior of the 'Full House' house is real?!

San Diego, CA

I've heard that San Diego is absolutely gorgeous!

Seattle, WA

I would love to visit the upper West coast, especially Seattle!  For one, it looks amazing; and two, it's where 'Grey's Anatomy' is based.  ;-)

Anchorage, AK

I would LOVE to visit Alaska someday. The views looks absolutely breathtaking!

Portland, ME

I have always wanted to go to Maine....and after seeing this picture, I want to go even more!

Happy Tuesday, peeps.  Have a great day! :-)

Life Lately

Well hello blogger land! I know, I know, this isa non link up post.  I'll give you all a minute to let the astonishment sink in. ;-)

Life lately has been completely wonderful, with the occasional busy meltdown on my part, but all in all, it's been pretty fantastic. I can't believe the summer is almost over!! Actually, is it terrible of me to look forward to the beginning of school? I love listening to the kids playing in the neighborhood, but, not past 8:30pm. I'm and old fart and I go to bed around that time every night, so, when noisy kids enjoying their summer freedom mess with my sleep, I look forward to them going back to school prison. I swear, one of these days I'm going to turn into that lady that chases the kids away with a broom. I encountered a lady like that once, and she was terrifying.

Anyway.... life has been keeping us incredibly busy! July was packed full of family time, photo sessions, and a lot of running around. The beginning of August has followed suit. I've been scheduling more week night photo sessions vs. weekend sessions, and I think it's worked out pretty well, aside from a few snags.

:::The pros: I get to spend a lot more time with my boys on the weekends! And, I get to sleep in a little...till a whopping 7am..whoo hoo! It's also given me some time to relax, which has been so SO nice.

:::The cons: I am so busy during the week, that I barely get time to spend with the boys. I come home from work, spend maybe 20 minutes there, and then leave for a session. This also involves me getting up earlier in the morning, like 4:30am, so I can get some editing done.

You win some, you lose some, right?  In reality, I'm just trying out different schedules/appointment times to see what works best for me and my family, because I am a mom and a wife first, and my family always comes first, before anything else.

The weather has been amazing the past few weeks in Illinois, and because of the lighter workloads on the weekends, we've been able to spend quite a bit of weekend time outdoors.  I've been trying to get my camera out on a more 'candid' basis so I can take random shots of Ryder and Darren, because really, I don't do that enough!  I'll look back on these pictures one day and be so thankful that I have them!

                                   Gah, his eyelashes are SO long!  I wonder if I'll always fawn over them?!

Love this man. :-)

 This little guy LOVES the slide.

Love this picture. :-)
And this one...when did my baby get so big?!
Seriously....where does the time go...?

I miss taking landscape shots!! I'm going to have to venture out sometime soon to get some new ones to add to my collection. :-)
Beaaaaauuuutiful sky.  I can't wait to edit these up a little bit.  These photos are SOOC (straight off of camera) so I can't wait to 'play' around a bit when I get more time.

I think this one will be nice once I figure out how I want to edit it.  I have a vision in my head, but I just haven't had the time to sit down with it yet.

Of course, Ryder had to come investigate.

Cutie pie. :-)

 Can you tell he's allllll boy?!  He loves jumping and running around all over the place!

Tonight, we're taking Ryder out to the Fairbury fair.  Last year wasn't a rousing success, so, I'm hoping he's more into it this year.

Have a great weekend, folks! Darren and I are having a little date weekend away, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Happy Friday! :-)

Random Thursday: TV Shows I Wish Were Never Cancelled

you're meaghan me crazy
It's been awhile since I've linked up with these lovely ladies for Random Thursday, and I figured there's no better time than the present to jump right back into it.

Today's post is all about TV shows I wish were never cancelled, and there a shit-ton I wish were still around. Here are a few of my favorites. :-)

'Friends' is one of the best shows...like ever.  Seriously, I can watch it over, and over, and over, and NEVER get sick of a single episode.  I wish they would do a reunion special!

This show, by far, is my favorite show EVER, and I was so incredibly peeved off and sad when it ended.  I was totally 'Team Pacey' and was over the moon when Joey picked him!  If you don't speak fluent 'Dawson', then you have zero idea of what I'm talking about....just trust that this show is amazeballs!  A reunion special would be fantastic!!

Gilmore Girls is one of those shows that you either love or tolerate.  I don't think anyone could ever truly hate this show.  There is too much hilarious banter, so there's no room for hating it.  I am one of those people that looooooves this show!  The series finale felt rushed, so, I don't think I really came to terms with the fact that it actually ended.  Reunion special, please?!

Seriously, why aren't there more reunion specials?!

Happy Thursday, peeps.  Take it easy on this fine, fine day. ;-)

Tuesday Topics: Eight Photos of Nature

Time for another Tuesday topics post! Today is eight photos of nature! :-)

I absolutely love taking photos of nature/landscapes when I get the time.  One of my favorite things to do is drive around for a few hours and find different things to photograph. :-)

Sunset right outside our house

Love this spot! It's out in the country right outside my hometown.

This spot was gorgeous for pictures!  Loved the color of the fields at sunset.

Country road at sunset

Fields at sunrise

I live in the midwest, so I see A LOT of corn. :-)

This were taken just the other day.  We had Ryder out at the park and I was going a bit camera happy. :-)

There's something about this one I really like.

Happy Tuesday!!

Tuesday Topics: 9 Travel Essentials

Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for another round of Tuesday Topics! Today's topic is 9 travel essentials. :-)

{Cell Phone}

How did we ever get by without cell phones?! I remember back in High School NOT having a cell phone until I was a 16 year old driving maniac, and even then, the phones were pretty basic. Now you can do all sorts of fun things with a cell phone. It makes traveling a lot more entertaining.

I used to haul around my Kindle Fire when traveling so I would have something to do in the car, or on the plane.  That has since been replaced with my iPad.  I have my Amazon account linked, so all of my Kindle books are accessable on the iPad.  Again, another technological item that makes traveling a snap and much more entertaining.

I am picky about loofah's, so this is something I always pack when traveling.

{Extra Contacts}
I can't see very well without my contacts, and I am not the biggest fan of wearing my glasses, so, I make sure to pack extra contact lenses when going on a trip.

{Medicine of all kinds}
Excedrin, Tylenol, Pepto, Tums, Advil....you name it...I pack it.  You never know when you'll need a specific medicine, so I make sure to pack a nice variety. :-)

{Flip Flops}
It doesn't matter if I'm going somewhere cooler or warmer, I always take a couple of pairs of flip flops with me.

{Comfortable Clothes}
Whether I'm on a plane or in a car, I try to dress in more comfortable clothing when traveling.  I feel more at ease....because let's just say I'm not the best traveler.  I tend to get stressed out easily....so I might as well be in comfortable clothes, right?!

I'd feel lost if I didn't bring some of my camera gear with me! :-)

{Extra's of almost EVERYTHING}
I tend to pack waaaayyyy too much, but, I like to be prepared.  So, that means, there are tons of 'extras' in my luggage: socks; clothes in general; batteries; chargers...etc...

Man, this makes me want to go on a trip!! :-)

Happy Tuesday!
