Tuesday Topics: 5 Songs That Bring Back Memories

Today, I am linking up with the Lauren and Tiffany for Tuesday Topics.

Life. Love.Lauren
Today is five songs that bring back memories.  This may be a little tough....there are definitely more than five that bring back memories for me!

Guns n' Roses - Live and Let Die
I remember riding along in the car with my boyfriend at the time, and all of his buddies (one of the buddies being Darren...say whaaaa? ;-)...) and all of them had their own little "piece" to add to this song, and it drove me absolutely nuts.  But, to this day, when I hear this song, it puts a smile on face remembing what idiots they all were, haha.  Sorry Dar! <3

Jagged Edge feat. Run DMC - Let's Get Married Remix
When Darren and I were just babies and our relationship was fresh, our weekends consisted of drinking and our 'dance parties' with some of our friends.  Darren used to get up on the table and shake his ass to this long.  HILARIOUS,  my friends!

Thriller - Michael Jackson
Let me just say this:  I've seen this video a crap ton of times; I've memorized portions of the dance; and I've 'performed' it in semi alcohol-induced-stupors at weddings.  Maybe I'll record it sometime so you all can see the amazingness that ensues.

Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On

Darren and I scream sing to this in the car whenever we hear this song.  Always.  It brings back memories of frickin' amazing awful our singing voices are....

Tenacious D - Tribute
This is another song that Darren and I perform for ourselves.  Entertainment at its finest, ladies and gents.

Now, who's ready for a dance party?!

Happy Tuesday, friends.  Have a great day!

Tuesday Topics and Training

It's Tuesday, which is definitely one of my favorite link-up days. :-)

First up, I'm linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for Tuesday Topics!
Life. Love.Lauren
Today is 6 of my favorite products.

Since I don't talk about it a lot, I thought I'd share some of my favorite health/beauty products today.
Proactiv Regimen
I use this every day, twice a day.  It has really helped clear up my skin, and has really made my skin a lot softer and smoother.  Plus, I signed up for an automatic shipment plan, so, when it's time to order more, it's done automatically and shipped right to my door.  Since I tend to forget things, I'm sooooo happy they offer this!

Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus
When I decide to take the time to straighten my hair, this is one of my go-to products.  It gives me a nice lift, and gives my hair a bit more body.

Rusk Str8 Hair Lotion

This goes on right before I blow dry my hair.  I love the feel and the smell of it!  Plus, it helps with the frizz so my hair straightens easily.  Love this stuff!

Rusk Thermal Serum
I use this when I plan on blow drying and straightening my hair.  It protects from the heat of the blow dryer and straightener, but also gives my hair some great shine.  This smells great as well!  :-)

Bare Minerals Make-Up
I have been wearing this make-up for a few years, and I will NEVER go back to regular foundation.  This feels incredibly light on my face, and I feel like it gives me a more natural look.

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara

This is my favorite mascara EVER!  I'm notorious for changing up mascara every time I run out and have to buy a new tube, butI've bought this same kind the last three times.  I LOVE IT!

Try some of these products if you get the chance.  They are pretty amazeballs! ;-)

Next up, I am linking up with Abbey and Tamara for Training Tuesday.

My workouts have been going great!!

Monday: Elliptical and strength training
Tuesday: REST
Wednesday: Elliptical and strength training
Thursday: Elliptical and strength training
Friday: Elliptical, but took a break with strength training
Saturday: Elliptical and strength training
Sunday: REST

The elliptical has gotten much easier this past week.  Saturday was seriously amazing, and I was almost in tears (happy tears!!!)  because of how hard I pushed and long I was able to go.  I did over 3 miles!  That may not seem like much,  but, I am seriously so proud of how far I've come in just two weeks.  I feel like I will be more than ready for my 5K coming up, (a little over 2 weeks....eeeeek!!!) and I'm definitely going to keep pushing myself.  I feel so much better after working out; I'm sad it took me this long to realize how much satisfaction I get out of doing it.  Better late than never!

Eating healthy has been going pretty good as well.  The weekends are pretty tough, especially with how busy we've been, but, for the most part, it's all going great.
Last night I decided to cook up something healthier to bring for a couple of my lunches this week.  It is actually pretty tasty!
I diced up my chicken and sauteed it in some EVOO and chopped garlic.  I added in some green beans, and a little salt and pepper.  Yum!

Happy Tuesday, peeps.  Make it a great day!

Training Thursday.....?

So, I'm a loser at life and completely missed the Training Tuesday link-up, and then Wednesday arrived, but was gone at the speed of light, so, I guess today will be Training Thursday.

Linking up (waaaaayyyy late) with Abbey and Tamzilla.

Last week was my first week going to the gym, and it actually felt pretty damn amazing.

Monday: First day on the dreaded 'mill.  Thought my lungs were going to burst.
Tuesday: I was expecting to be sore, but I felt really good.  Decided to have more treadmill fun. I hate that thing, but, I powered through.
Wednesday: I decided to try out the elliptical, and I actually enjoy it a lot more than the treadmill.
Thursday: Elliptical.  Building up stamina sucks, but, I'm getting there!!  I also added in some weight training.  I felt great after that work out!
Friday: REST
Saturday: Elliptical and more strength training.  Again, I felt great afterwards! :-)
Sunday: REST

One of my goals for June was to work out 3-5 times per work, and I am so proud of myself for going 5 times my first week.  This week I'm hoping to make it 4-5 times, depending on what else we have going on.

This past Tuesday I had a bit of a meltdown.  Long story short, the scale is a bitch, and I concentrate too much on the numbers.  When they don't go down the way I want, I get discouraged and pissy.  Darren and my friend  reminded me that since I am strength training, I will be building up muscle as well, so, losing inches may be what I notice first.  I was still a grump-bag, but, I tried to get over it.

Yesterday I decided to just forget about the scale, so, I'm going to try not to weigh myself.  I've just gotta' remind myself that it doesn't matter what the scale says....it matters how I feel.  Easier said than done, but, I'm trying.

So, all in all, I'm happy to report that things are going pretty well, except for my Tuesday troubles, but, I'm sure I'll have more days like that.  It's normal, right?!

Happy Thursday!! :-)

Tuesday Topics: 7 Things About My Job

Linking up with two of my favorite ladies, Lauren and Tiffany, for Tuesday Topics. :-)

Life. Love.Lauren
Today is 7 things about my job.

Hold on to your butts, things are about to get nuts.

Not really.  And here's why.

I work in Insurance.  Remember this post??  But, I'll let you decide if my profession is 'sexy', or if it leaves little to be desired. ;-)

:::I've worked here for 7 years, all of which have been in the same department.  Go me.

:::I am the coordinator for glass claims, and I am currently the back up coordinator for road service claims.  So, if you have issues or questions with your windshield/other glass on your vehicle, or have problems or need information on towing or other types of road service, I'm your girl.

:::I've had pretty lengthy conversations with Darren, my family, and some of my friends about claims and insurance in general. Gotta' share my wealth of knowledge....right?! ;-)

 Riveting conversation, no?

:::I've taken a few courses to earn me 'fancy' insurance designations so I can put letters behind my name in my email signature and on other letters/correspondence.  I know, I know, that's pretty bomb-diggity right thurrr.

But hang on, things are really going to pick up now......

:::The job is sedentary, meaning, I sit at a desk allll day long.  I try to get up and move around, stretch, and just walk around, but, I've been super busy lately and my ass hasn't left my chair.  But hey, my chair is pretty sweet.

:::I have made some great friends working here.  Many have left and gone on to other gigs, but some of my very best work friends are still here. :-)

:::I've become increasingly picky out my pens since working here.  They have to have a medium point....none of that 'fine point' shit.

So, pretty sexy....yes? Haha. :-)

Happy Tuesday!!

Picture Galore Part 2

Whoo hoo, it's Friday!!  Tomorrow, we are traveling to Indiana to photograph our first wedding of the summer.  I love weddings, and I know this one will be absolutely stunning.  I have something up my sleeve for the sneak peeks of this wedding, so stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, here is part two of my picture galore posts.  We've had some amazing sessions lately, and I love sharing them with you all. :-)

This session was a  bit of a challenge.  The girls just weren't into it.  But, I still got some great photos....it wasn't hard, considering how gorgeous these two girls are! :-)

This little guy has got to be one of the happiest little 6 month olds I've ever encountered.  What a little doll!

They are too cute. :-)

This last session is probably one of my favorites to date.  It was an engagement session in the on again/off again rain we had been having.  We were hoping for a sunnier evening, but, in all honesty, I am in love with these!

One of my favorites photos I've taken so far.  LOVE!

Hope you enjoyed these!
Happy Friday!!  Have a fantastic weekend. :-)

Random Thursday: Photo Phone Dump

It's Thursday...meaning it's time to get raaaannnnnddddoooommmm. ;-)

Linking up with these lovely ladies for Random Thursday. :-)

Today's topic is...
Are you ready to see all of the amazing crap my phone photo gallery contains?!

My boys at the zoo

What a cheeser

I always know how to ruin a good pic :-)

My dog smiles :-)

Stud, right? ;-)

My fruit the other day was fantastic!

Yay for new paint colors in the house!  The living room is first, and the green in the middle is what is going on the walls.

Our moose dog

Mmmm, yogurt-granola-blueberry goodness

I started working out at the gym this week, and I was trying to capture my nasty sweat essence on camera to send to the hubby.  If that doesn't scream sexy, I don't know what does.

What the heck...stealing my phone for your own picture taking pleasure.  Pft...whatevs.

Apparently the pics didn't want to load in the right order.  Here is Ryder checking out the camels at the zoo.

Da Bears.....

Gorilla laziness at its finest.

Happy Thursday, yo'.  Have a great day!

Sessions Galore...Part 1

We've been staying busy with sessions the past few weeks, and it's been great.  I've had the opportunity to try a few new things (pose, lighting, composition and editing-wise) and it's been more than wonderful. :-)

Here are some of the sessions we've done lately.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the sessions themselves. :-)

I was super excited to be able to work with these guys again.  Their wedding was a blast, and they were great to work with.  This family session didn't lack in the fun department.  Those two boys were cracking all of us up! :-)

The oldest boy is a senior this coming year, so I got to have a senior session with him as well.

The dad built/restored both of these cars.  His is the one on the left (he did this at 15 years old!!), and his son's is on the right.  I was so excited when he mentioned incorporating the cars in the session.  Here are two shots that I shared.  It was hard to pick just two....there were tons of awesome ones!!  I took a step away from my usual editing style, and played around with these a bit.  I love how they turned out!

This maternity session was absolutely amazing.  They were up for anything, so I got to try some new things.  Isn't their dog adorable?!

I love this one in color....

And I love it in black and white. :-)

I have a few more sessions to share, but, I'll stop at these three for now.  Stay tuned for part two, coming your way soon. :-)

Happy Wednesday!  Make it great. :-)
