Tuesday Topics: 10 Things I Live For

Time for another round of Tuesday topics with these lovely ladies!! :-) Today's topic is 10 things I live for.

I can't imagine life before my little doll face was a part of it. :-)

This man is my everything, and my love for him is indescribable. <3

I would be lost without my family.  Love them all to pieces! :-)

I am so lucky and fortunate to have such a great group of friends.  It's not about quantity; it's about quality...and in my humble opinion, I have some of the best friends...EVER! ;-)

Our Fur Babies
They are part of our family, and I would do anything for them.

Crisp Fall Days/Evenings/Nights
It's no secret that fall is my favorite time of the year.  My birthday, our wedding anniversary, and so many more wonderful things take place in the fall.

I am a HUGE fan of Christmas and Thanksgiving.  I host Thanksgiving every year, and I love every second of it.  I love decorating the house for Christmas, and I love being able to spend this time with our families.  It's a wonderful time of the year!

I have found something I really enjoy doing, and I am so greatful and overjoyed at where this journey has taken me.  Sure, I may be so busy sometimes I can't see straight; I may get stressed to the max when I have a lot on my plate; but, when it comes down to it, I love what I do.

I love getting lost in a good book; getting wrapped up in a plot in a movie; being brought to tears by a beautiful piece of music.  I love it all, and I live for feeling those powerful emotions.

Living Life
I live...well...to live...if that makes any sense.  I try to enjoy this life as much as I can, and do as much as possible with the people I love most.  That, to me, is ultimately live for....the every day busy bustle of life.  It's who I am, so why not enjoy it?

Happy Tuesday friends! Have a fantastic day! :-)

Tuesday Topics: One Lifelong Dream

Life. Love.Lauren
Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for Tuesday Topics.  Today's topic is the last one for this round, but because these ladies are seriously awesome, they already have a new group of topics ready to start next week! :-)

So, one lifelong dream, huh?  Well, it may not seem very original, but, a pretty big dream of mine is to be completely debt free, and be able to build our dream house (complete with a photography studio!!), while continuing to stay out of debt.  I'm not asking much, right?! Haha.

I mean, how much could it possibly cost to build one of these homes.... I'm thinking an arm, a leg, maybe a kidney...and a lot of cheddah'.........

Phone Dump and Boy Bands

Here are a few pictures from my cell phone the past few weeks. :-)

Creepy selfies are the best.

And this...this is right here....

...is what a tired boy on the 4th of July looks like. :-)

My brother likes to bust a move every so often.

And apparently, one of the best times to do so is while grilling.

Dance on, Jeff, dance on.

This is what happens when I've spent an afternoon in the pool consuming one too many adult beverages. ;-)

How adorable are these invites?!  I'm co-hosting a baby shower for one of my bff's, and I love how they turned out!!! :-)

In other news--tonight I am traveling up north to re-live my past...music past that is.  A few months back, me and my friend Jessie bought tickets to see New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees, and Boyz II Men in concert.  It took forever to get here, but tonight, my friends, I will be shaking my ass and singing along to some boy band classics!

In true 'Sara fashion', I will leave you with a few of my personal favorite boy band numbers..

You're welcome. :-)

Happy freakin' Friday, peeps!  Have an awesome weekend!

A Look Back on June Goals

At the beginning of June, one of the Tuesday Topics link-up topics was eight goals for the month. I decided to re-visit this and see how well I did/didn't do. I can honestly say I think I did pretty well in June. July is another story....we've been incredibly busy that it's been increasingly difficult to stick with anything. That's life though, right? ;-) So, let's see how I did.....

Here are the goals I listed in this post.  My progress is listed directly below in italics. :-)

{Continue eating healthy}
I've done pretty well at sticking with the healthy eating. It may not always be clean eating, but, I am proud as to where I am compared to where I was.

--I actually did pretty well with this the month of June.  Of course, there were days when it was more difficult, but, I can honestly say I stuck with this a majority of the month.

{Work-out 3-5 times per week}
 I joined the gym. I know, I'll give you all a minute to pick up your jaws from the floor. But, I am actually excited and happy I did this. So, I want to try to work out 3-5 times per week, depending on what other things we have going on (sessions, family obligations, etc).

--I totally rocked this goal the month of June!  I was able to work out 5 days per week all but 1 week in June.  I felt awesome when I was working out regularly.  I'm hoping to get this going again in August.

{Run for 'X' minutes straight}
I want to be able to run...and run for 'X' amount of minutes straight. I want to leave this goal a little loose, because I know I'll be proud no matter how many minutes I'm able to run straight. :-)

--This is kind of hard to gauge for me....due to the work outs I did at the gym, I am not sure if it was really considered 'running.'  But, I can say that I can sprint run for 2-3 minutes straight, which granted, may not sound like much, but for me, it is a huge deal!

{Pack my breakfast and lunch daily}
I run out of time in the mornings, so, I usually just grab something in our cafeteria or something while I'm out on lunch. This week, I've been good with getting healthier options, but, they aren't always cost effective. I want to try to be better about packing and bringing my own breakfasts and lunches this month.

--I did this Mon-Thurs every day in June for the most part for breakfast. Friday was always my 'free' day, but, other than that, I packed my breakfast every day.  Lunch was always a bit harder to commit to, but, I was good about getting healthier lunch items, like a salad, most days.

 {Family pictures}
The last time we had family pictures taken, Ryder was 11 months old. He is now 2 1/2. I'd say we're a little overdue. Plus, I really need to get some pictures put up on my walls, so, might as well get some new photos to display. :-)

--Fail...epic fail.  I think we are going to wait until November to get these taken.  I love fall colors and fall weather, so, it made sense just to wait.

{Save $$}
We have quite a bit coming up, and, I need to start putting some extra $$ away. Easier said than done. ;-)

--Meh, didn't do this so much.  Summer sucks, just because there is so much fun stuff to do, and most of it costs money.  Bleck.  I guess I'll give this one another try. ;-)

{Find new, healthier meals to make for home}
I need to do a lot of research and find some new recipes to make at home that are healthier. It's hard sometimes, because we are usually on the go, so it's easier and more convenient to just grab something on our way out or on our way home. I really want to be better at this!

--I made a few new healthy recipes, some went over well, some, not so much.  I'm still on the hunt for some new recipes, so, if you have any you'd like to share, please send them my way!! :-)

{Buy some new work-out gear}
I need some new work-out pants and shirts. So much for saving all of that $$, huh?! Ha, I'll try to find some things more cost effective.

--I bought a couple of new things (some tops and compression capris) and I LOVE them!!  I have my eyes set on some new Asic work out shoes, but, I'm pushing that purchase back until at least August.  I guess my Nike's will have to do for now. :-)

So, all in all, I think I did ok.  I plan on setting up another list of goals for the month of August, so I'll share that once I can sit down and mull it all over.

Happy hump day friends!

Tuesday Topics: Two Places I've Traveled

Life. Love.Lauren
Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for Tuesday Topics! :-)  Today's topic is two places I've traveled.

{Las Vegas, NV}
I've been lucky enough to be able to visit this awesome destination not once, but twice!  I am not what you may call a 'hardcore' gambler, but, I do like to try my luck at different slot machines.  There is so much to do and see in Vegas, and even after being there twice, I still don't feel like I made a dent in the whole experience.

Here are some pics from our first Vegas trip back in 2012.  We went with my parents and my aunt and her boyfriend to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday!

We stayed at The Mirage on our first trip.  It was really nice!

Of course, you get to witness all aspects of Vegas, including the bad and ugly...like the homeless people and people in drunken stupors.

And, here are a few pics from our second trip in February of 2013.  This was a trip just for me and Darren.  We had a blast!

We stayed at the MGM Grand for this trip.  It is HUGE!  It was really nice and we had an amazing view the strip!

Yep, we're those tourists.... pretty sure I was drunk after three sips of this.

{Riviera Maya, Cancun Mexico}
We traveled here back in February of 2010. This trip was an absolute blast!  We had a pretty big traveling group (10 of us!) which consisted of my family (Darren, my parents and brother) and my parent's best friends' family (parents, kids/spouse.)  It was so much fun!  I don't have any pictures readily available to share of our particular trip, so, I thought I would share pictures of the resort we stayed at.

We stayed at the Grand Palladium in Riviera Maya.  It is a bunch of resorts packed into one, and it is gigantic!  I got lost at least once a day walking around that place.

Gorgeous, right?!  All-inclusive resorts are fantastic, because it feels like you spend NO money the entire time since all of your drinks and food are included.  You pretty much forget the fact that you forked over all of the money to travel therei n the first place, haha. :-)

Happy Tuesday, peeps.  Have a great day!

Tuesday Topics: Three Favorite Quotes

Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany for Tuesday Topics! :-)
Life. Love.Lauren
Today is three of my favorite quotes, two of which come from my favorite book series. :-)

"It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."--Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

 I think this quote is unbelievably true in all aspects. Our choices ultimately help define who we are, not our abilities alone. I always try to keep this in mind when I'm dealing with different situations.

 "For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."--Judy Garland

I've loved this quote for a long time. It says a lot about love and how we perceive it...well, how I perceive it. This may sound corny, but, this is how I feel about Darren, and our love together. This quote means a lot to me and what we stand for. :-)

“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”--Dumbledore

It's important to have dreams and to pursue them. It's also important to remember the life we have and not forget to actually live it. Go after your dreams, but, live your life at the same time. :-)

 Happy Tuesday, peeps. Have a fantastic day!

Phone Dump

Here are some pictures from my phone that I've taken recently.  They are all of Ryder, but I'm sure no one is shocked or surprised by this, #amiright?

Potty training is fun....said no parent EVER!

However, seeing him in big boy underwear makes my heart melt. <3

Gah...how cute are these boxer briefs?? Love them!

Ryder loves spending time with our extended family, so, this is the face he made when we were done having dinner out with some of them.

It seriously broke my heart.  All he wanted was his Auntie Kinzey and Uncle Jeff.  Luckily, he saw them about 20 minutes later when we all went bowling! :-)

This kid loves hats. He'd wear them all of the time if I'd let him....

He's getting so big.   I can't believe he's two and a half already!  He went to the doctor last week, which went extremely well.   That's another post entirely. :-)

Happy Wednesday, peeps.  Today is my Friday, whoop whoop!!! Have a fantastic, happy and safe 4th of July holiday!!
